As a draftsman of the Langsdorff Expedition Hercule Florence created a valuable iconographic material, especially about the indigenous populations (link exhibit) (Apiaká, Bororo, Guaná, Guató, Munduruku, among others) who inhabited the Brazilian territory from São Paulo to Amazonas, not only for the accurate tracing, but mainly for having been one of the first to create graphic representations of these peoples.
