In September 1825, the travelers who participated in the scientific mission headed by the physician and naturalist Georg von Langsdorff go to Santos by boat and follow up to the Amazon through the interior of the country. From 1826 to 1829, they traveled through the current states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso and Pará. During the expedition, Florence collected and recorded the flora in an accurate and rigorous way.
